End-of-Year Student Gifts (That Won’t Break the Bank!)

Every year, I start the hunt for an affordable end-of-year gift for my students. I love sending them off with something special to remember our year together—but let’s be real, when you have 25 kids in your class, it adds up fast.

This year, I finally found something that felt personal, fun, and budget-friendly.

I made each student a personalized beach bucket filled with:

  • a bubble wand

  • a beach ball

  • and a sweet photo + note from me

It turned out so cute—and the kids absolutely loved them!

What I Used

I grabbed all of my supplies from Amazon (because convenience is everything in May 😅). I did check my local Walmart for bubble wands, but I actually found a better price online in bulk.

Here are the exact items I used:

  • Bubble Wands— these came in a multi-pack, which made it super affordable per student

  • Beach Buckets — I loved that these were sturdy and came in bright colors

  • Beach Balls — lightweight and easy to fit right inside the bucket

👉 Tip: Always check the “multi-pack” options when you’re shopping for class sets—it usually saves the most money.

How I Personalized Everything

I used my Cricut to cut out each student’s name, and it made such a difference in making the gifts feel special.

If you’re newer to Cricut, I use the **Cricut Explore Air 2 , and it’s been more than enough for classroom projects like this. If you are looking for a cheaper option the Cricut Joy is also a good option.

For vinyl, I always go back to this transfer vinyl —it’s affordable, sticks well, and doesn’t peel up (which is a win when kids are involved!).

I added each child’s name to:

  • the bubble wand

  • the beach bucket

I left the beach balls as-is to save time (and sanity at the end of the year 😅).

Design your name and image in Cricut Design Studio

I went into Design studio and put each kids name in to cut out. I found a free sun that I also wanted to put on the bucket. It only took a few minutes to finish my design, and I could work on other things while my machine was cutting everything out.

When it was all cut out out I weeded my design (weeding is removing the blank space around the image or letters you want cut out.) I used the transfer tape to put the name and image on the wand and bucket.

Putting It All Together

Once everything was labeled, I filled each bucket with a little bit of filler (affiliate link) to give it a fuller look, then added the bubble wand and beach ball inside.

For the final touch, I printed out a picture of me with each student and wrote a short, personalized note on the back.

I laminated each one using my laminator so they would last all summer (and hopefully beyond!).

👉 You can check out the exact laminator I use in my [must-have classroom supplies blog] —it’s one of those things I didn’t think I needed, but now I use it all the time.

I attached the photo to the handle using ribbon, and that was it… done!

Final Thoughts

These gifts were:

  • affordable

  • meaningful

  • and honestly pretty quick to put together

It felt so good giving my students something personal without spending a fortune.
