ThThis festive holiday pillow is an easy-to-sew project that makes a perfect gift—or a charming addition to your own home décor. I’ll walk you through the step-by-step tutorial on how to make it.

I began by cutting out a tree-shaped template. I did this freehand, making sure not to make the tree’s curves too narrow. My finished pillow is 14" tall and 12" wide at its widest point.

Next, I chose a neutral fabric that wasn’t too busy. I really like this one: https://amzn.to/3JHdUHp — it has a classic Christmas feel that doesn’t seem to age. This fabric would also be a fun option: https://amzn.to/49siNyu.

After cutting out my fabric using the template, I stitched the pieces together, leaving an opening at the bottom for stuffing.

If you prefer a simple tree shape, you can stop here: just stuff the pillow and close the opening with a ladder stitch. I like using this stuffing because it makes the pillow nice and soft: https://amzn.to/44g9ga4.

If you’d like to add a tag and a bow, here’s how I made mine.
I cut out a tag shape from plain cotton fabric like this one: https://amzn.to/4i4oViw. I prefer ivory over bright white for a softer look. Using my Cricut, I designed the wording and cut it from iron-on HTV. After ironing the HTV onto the tag, I used double-sided iron-on bonding paper to attach the tag to the pillow: https://amzn.to/3X0Nwv5 (it’s a big roll, but the value is great!).

For the bow, I found a fabric bow pattern online that I liked and used it to create the finishing touch.
